FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • What can a website do for my business or ministry?

    • Relieve your workload. Do you find yourself (or your employees) answering the same questions about the same products and services over and over and over? Of course, some people want or need to talk with you personally, but others are happy to find the answer to their questions displayed on a site. Then you can talk specifics with those who are truly interested.
    • Maintain a continuous "presence." Traditional advertising (newspaper, radio, TV, etc.) is often available for only a tiny bit of time (e.g. a few seconds on the radio). A web site is available 24/7/365. It's always there to direct people to you.
    • Reach more people. Often we think of websites in terms of reaching a "global" audience, and they certainly can. However, a properly designed and marketed site can also be very helpful for businesses or ministries seeking to reach the people in "their own backyard." More and more people are turning to the internet for answers, even for "local" questions. A properly designed site will help those people find you, learn what you have to offer, and build some trust before they ever make the phone call or come to visit.
    • Reach "decision-makers." Some families or organizations make decisions together. A website facilitates decision-making because all members of the family or organization can visit the site either together or separately at their own convenience. Each one receives exactly the same information. There is no confusion about what someone thinks they saw on a TV commercial. This factor can be a real time-saver for your business or organization. Rather than answering all the questions from one person and then answering many of the same questions, plus additional questions from another person, you can invite them to see the information on the site. Another advantage is that they can print the information to study or share with others.
    • Get better value for your marketing dollar. It would be prohibitively expensive to advertise all products and services in detail. But on a web site, you can do just that, and much more besides!
    • Provide a consistent message. People won't be wondering if you told them the same thing you told their neighbor. It's there in black and white for everyone to see clearly, and that builds trust.
    • Sell online. You can take orders online via order forms. You can also sell downloads directly (i.e. the buyer selects the item, pays for it, and receives a download key, all automatically).

  • Is a custom site right for me?

Some people find a pair of shoes from the discount store fits their needs perfectly; others need or want something that is specifically suited to their feet, their activities, their tastes, etc. Websites work on the same principle: Some may do fine with a basic, "generic" site, but for many, personalization is important.

In most cases, your business or ministry is unique, so having a website that reflects your individuality and personal service is an advantage.

Remember, your site it often a person's first impression of you. What kind of impression do you want to leave?

A custom website costs more than a generic site, but does not necessarily have to be expensive.

  • I want links, sound, photos, forms, .... Can you do that?

    Yes. Please see Features.

  • What if I want to change the "look" of the site (e.g. from a red, white, and blue "patriotic" look to a "fall colors" look)?

Because of the way I design sites, this is not a difficult process. It does take a little time to develop the new look, but once it is set up, all pages on the site are instantly updated.

  • I want to add a new page of information. Will it be expensive to add it to the menu on each of the existing pages?

After two months, there is a $14 "per order" charge to add new pages. This is to cover changes to the navigation links, site map, etc. If you add 1 new page, the charge is $14; if you add 10 new pages, the charge is still $14. (This small charge is in addition to the cost of the page.) See ??? for more information on prices.

  • How long will it take?

It generally takes 2-4 weeks to work through the process of developing a new site. This includes consulation about content and style, acquiring the necessary graphics, considering various options, etc. There are several decisions that need to be made and they are usually made step-by-step, so some of the time depends on how quickly you are able to respond to questions. If you have a deadline to meet (e.g. need to have the site online so advertising can be purchased before the election or before a scheduled opening date), please let me know and I'll let you know if it's feasible.

  • How much will it cost?

    Please see Pricing.

  • Can a website replace all my other advertising?

In most cases, a website will enhance your current advertising and outreach, but should not replace it. Depending on your clientele and your goals, you may be able to reduce advertising costs in other areas. However, you should plan to continue having a "presence" in other media - newspaper, radio, TV, flyers, business cards - that you are currently using. See "How will your web site be marketed or promoted?" on my "Are you ready for a web site?" page.

Add your website address to each form of advertising you currently use. The other media will create interest and the site will provide more information.

Because more and more people are searching for products and services on the internet, you can also expect to gain additional clients through the site.

  • What do you mean by "user friendly"?

If you've visited a variety of sites on the internet, you've probably encountered some that were very frustrating because it was nearly impossible to find the link you needed to get the information you wanted. It's like walking into a strange store where the signs don't make any sense. I place a very high emphasis on making it easy for your visitors to find their way around your site.

  • How can I be sure you'll do a good job on my site?
    • Check the sites I've already done; see my sample pages: Sites & Samples
    • See the Eubank Inspections Award Page for awards won for that site including the prestigious

World Wide Web Award Gold Web 2006
World Wide Web Awards Gold Web Award 2006

The Gold Award represents Web Presence at its best. To achieve this award is truly an honor. The winning site has scored between 90 and 100 points, which was not an easy task. A Gold award winning site is error free from broken links and error messages of any kind. Correct use of Meta tags and ALT tags have been used, which most search engines have picked up on "keywords" used in the "Meta Tags". This site uses advanced features, scripts and coding. Graphic Design is of the highest quality and original works of art, created by the site designer.

The Gold Award site represents at least 95 percent of original content and creativity and provides outstanding design and layout of website. Its content is something that will interest any and all visitors, who visit their site.

    • I listen to what you want. No pre-made templates, all work is based on what you ask for. I personally pay attention to every detail whether it's a small flaw in a graphic, alignment of items on the page, color coordination, or coding details that no one sees. My goal is a great site and your complete satisfaction.

  • What area do you serve?

I am located in Southern Colorado, USA, but serve anywhere the internet is available. My first site was developed with a partner who is half-way around the world. We did everything via e-mail and a rare chat (instant messaging).

  • Do you accept international clients?

Yes. (See question above: "What area do you serve?") The only additional factor for international clients is that payment must be in US dollars. (See next question regarding forms of payment.)

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept Paypal (bank payment is preferred, credit cards accepted), check, money order, MoneyGram, Western Union, and even cash!
