The Issues ...

Water
  • Keep Arkansas basin water home. Pooled leasing at market values will allow owners of water rights to:
    1. retain ownership;
    2. reap benefits far into the future;
    3. pass the wealth on to their heirs;
    4. continue to operate and reduce debt;
    5. recover soils as fields lie fallow;
    6. keep most of the water in the basin and community along with the wealth generated through the leases.
  • Mitigation measures and water quality protection can be achieved through county land use powers, regional planning and intergovernmental agreements.
  • I support the Arkansas Valley Conduit and augmentation water for rural users.
  • I will aggressively seek funding for agriculture and domestic projects and improvements to existing systems. Additional storage is necessary regardless of the drought.

Re-establish Our Moral Compass
  • Without a moral compass and respect for the rule of law, lawless civil authorities and activist judges will do away with our foundations.
  • Preservation of marriage, protection of life, Second Amendment rights and religious liberty are fundamental values of our American culture.
  • Partial Birth Abortion Ban - an important victory, but we must continue the cause for life
  • Federal Marriage Amendment - for consistency among the states and control of federal judges

"We must never give up the fight to defend all life from the moment of conception, and stand firm against efforts to erode the fundamental meaning of marriage as the union between man and woman for the purpose of creating and nurturing new life"
--Gerry McDaniel

Health Care
  • Work to promote an increase in rural health care clinics that provide affordable services.
  • Encourage the use of "association plans" for small businesses that can reduce premiums while providing quality care.
  • Continue to link new health care programs and area providers with essential legislative updates and information.

Economy
  • Bring the jobs to the water
  • Future economic planning through county planning authority
  • Regional vision and cooperation will be necessary
  • Advocate small business owners working toward new funding sources for start ups and expanding established companies

Agriculture
  • Agriculture embodies the social, economic and environmental values for vital rural economic growth. Agriculture must remain a foundational part of the State's economy.
  • Sound American agriculture is sound homeland security against bio-terrorism.

Education
  • Help integrate efforts of higher education, business and local government to create or attract new business and jobs
  • Ensure the choice of a quality K-12 education for families
  • Look for administrative efficiencies and make college credits more transferable
